As we said in our earlier post, PSSA scores for the 2008-2009 school year have been released, and can be downloaded here.
There are not a lot of data here, but it seems clear from the plots of SCASD’s rankings within Pennsylvania over time that something is negatively influencing the performance of our students in math. SCASD administrators told the Board last spring that our sliding ranking is due to other districts “teaching to the test”, but this explanation begs the question: Why has our standing in reading remained so high?
